MedReminder - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Skyline Apps ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use the MedReminder mobile application ("the App").

Our Promise

MedReminder is built with privacy as a core principle. Your health data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal or medication information to anyone - not to pharmaceutical companies, advertisers, or any third party.

Information Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device only:

  • Medication names, dosages, and schedules you enter
  • Dose history (taken, missed, skipped)
  • Caregiver names and contact information you provide
  • Your profile name and notification preferences
  • Medication photos you capture
  • Supply counts and refill history

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share a report.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or have access to:

  • Your medication data or health information
  • Your location
  • Your contacts (beyond what you manually enter as caregivers)
  • Advertising IDs
  • Any personally identifiable information

Your Data Stays on Your Device

MedReminder does not store your health or medication data on any server. There is no account to create and no login required. All your medication data is processed and stored entirely on your device. Anonymous usage analytics (which features are tapped, not your health data) are sent to Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

MedReminder uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate - for example, which features are popular and where people encounter issues. This data is anonymous and does not include your medication names, dosages, health information, or any personally identifiable details. Analytics helps us improve the app for everyone. No advertising SDKs or tracking services are used.

Notifications

Medication reminders are scheduled using your device's local notification system. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device - they are not sent through any external server.

Caregiver Features

When you add a caregiver, their name and contact information are stored locally on your device. If you miss a dose for more than 30 minutes, the app will prompt you to send an alert message to your caregiver using your device's Messages app. This message is sent directly from your phone through your carrier - MedReminder does not operate any messaging server. Standard carrier messaging rates may apply.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. Apple's privacy policy governs all transaction data.

Medication Photos

If you use the photo feature to capture images of your medications, those photos are stored only on your device within the app's private storage. They are not uploaded anywhere or shared with any service.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, deleting the MedReminder app permanently removes all your data. There are no server-side backups to delete. You can also delete individual medications, doses, or caregivers from within the app at any time.

Third-Party Services

MedReminder uses two third-party services: Firebase Analytics (anonymous usage data, as described above) and Apple's App Store (subscription processing). We do not use advertising SDKs, Facebook SDK, or any user-tracking service. We do not sell or share your data with any third party.

Children's Privacy

MedReminder is designed for adults managing their own or a family member's medications. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has used the app, deleting the app will remove all stored data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
